The Zhengzhou Materials Genome Institute (ZMGI) was established with the support of Zhengzhou City and Xingyang Municipal Government, led by internationally renowned material scientist and Professor Shao Guosheng of the National Thousand Talents Program. The Institute was established in May 2016. Based on the “Zhongyuan Zhigu” of Xiangyang City, ZMGI relies on two national key disciplines of materials and condensed matter physics of Zhengzhou University, and cooperates with the National Joint Research Center for Intelligent Design of Low-carbon Environmental Materials, in line with the international frontier and based on China. The principle of “introducing inline, integration of production, study and research”, vigorously develop material genome engineering methods, and create an international innovation platform for cooperation in science, technology and industry.
